Udacity Pricing: How Much Does Nanodegree Cost in 2024?

Last Updated on May, 2024

Wherever you go, you’ll find a platform that offers online courses, and sometimes even for free. It’s becoming the next big thing in this rapidly developing industry.

As a student, it definitely is a task to browse through all these platforms and find the perfect fit for you for the ideal price.

And if you are a student looking to turn the page with Udacity, you’re in the right place.

In this article, you will learn all about Udacity’s new subscription model, its Nanodegree programs, and how it compares to other learning platforms.

Let’s get started!

Quick Summary

Udacity offers a subscription model for their courses, with a monthly cost starting at $249 per month or a discounted 4-month subscription for $846.

Udacity’s pricing structure may seem higher than other online learning platforms, but it offers more in-depth courses and Nanodegree programs taught by industry experts, leading to certifications and opportunities for career growth.

Udacity also offers a scholarship program for students and a business training program for companies, and frequently provides promotional discounts for its courses. Refunds are available within the first month of subscription, but only for EU students.

Udacity Pricing Plan

Starting in September 2023, Udacity changed how to join and buy its programs. Like many other learning platforms, now it’s a subscription platform.

They introduced a new ‘All Access’ subscription plan. The monthly cost varies based on how long you choose to subscribe, it starts at $249 per month, or you can save 15% by paying upfront for a four-month subscription at $846.

Before, you had to pick a specific Nanodegree program or course and pay for each separately. With the new model, you pay one fee for unlimited access to any content you want as long as you’re an active subscriber.

What do you get as an active Udacity subscriber?

  • Access to all of Udacity’s top-quality content, including over 80 Nanodegree and Executive programs and all their courses.
  • The talent transformation suite for personalized learning.
  • A support forum where you can ask questions and talk about ideas.

How Does Udacity Pricing Structure Compare to Other Online Learning Platforms?

Before trying out a new product or service, I always do my research and compare it with other competitors.

Just like that, before you enroll in a program on Udacity, it’s better to check how its prices compare to other online learning platforms.

That said, it’s not entirely fair to compare Udacity’s prices directly to other learning platforms with a different structure of rendering their service. Because they mainly offer individual courses on various topics.

Udacity, on the other hand, focuses on in-depth courses and Nanodegree programs with real-world projects that can lead to actual degrees and certifications.

It delves deep into fields like data science, cloud computing, software engineering, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and other tech careers in the tech industry taught by industry experts.

So, even though the pricing may seem different, it’s because Udacity provides a higher level of education and more significant career growth and opportunities.

Monthly Subscription$249N/A$59
Annual Subscription$2390$120-$240$399

Udacity’s monthly subscription is more expensive than other platforms, it also has a 4-month plan which is the average time to complete a Nanodegree program.

Is Udacity Free?

No, Udacity is not entirely free, but many free courses are available – hundreds of them, covering a wider range of topics. These Udacity free courses are a great way to explore a subject before committing to a paid subscription plan.

But here’s the thing: these free courses are just a way for you to get a taste of what the platform is. Hence, they don’t provide a certificate upon course completion. But you sure can gain tech skills taught by industry professionals.

Udacity Free Courses

You can choose to take a course for free or subscribe to access Udacity’s nanodegrees, which are currently very popular. Free courses are shorter, taking between one week to a month to complete, and they don’t go in-depth as paid courses. (For obvious reasons)

However, they give you a real feel for the course, helping you decide whether to start your learning journey with Udacity as a subscriber.

Udacity Free Trial

The Udacity free trial gives you full access for seven days to all the programs, including the Udacity Nanodegrees, up to three hands-on projects to enhance your learning, and up to three project reviews from industry experts.

However, remember that during the trial, you won’t be able to obtain a certificate of completion, which is only available if you subscribe for a monthly fee. The refund period must conclude before receiving your certificate.

Get your hands on the videos, quizzes and learning material. Additional resources like the career services team and the career portal are not accessible during the free Udacity period.

I will also discuss Udacity Business and the infamous Udacity Nanodegree program that has caught everyone’s attention.

Every learning platform has something that stands out, like their trump card. At Udacity, their trump card is the Udacity Nanodegree Program.

Udacity Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation

It’s crucial to know that Udacity will automatically renew your subscription on a monthly basis unless you cancel it or they terminate it.

If you, by any chance, change your mind after purchasing a course on Udacity and want to cancel your subscription, this is how you do it.

You can stop the automatic renewal anytime by going to your account’s ‘Subscription And Billing’ setting, then clicking ‘Cancel’ and confirming.

You can cancel your Udacity subscription and get a full refund within seven days of buying it.

To do this, go to your account’s ‘Subscription And Billing’ setting during the first seven days after subscribing.

This fourteen-day refund option is only open in the first month of your Udacity subscription.

Is Udacity Worth it?

Yes! Everything about Udacity SCREAMS that it’s worth. I mean, the course quality, the mentors, the pricing, everything is top-notch.

Because, students get high-quality education and hours of interactive lessons to gain practical experience for their career goals. It’s a valuable choice for upskilling and advancing in tech careers.

The depth of the Udacity Nanodegree surpasses typical online courses. If you’re aiming for a career in tech or want to upskill in the industry, Udacity’s cost is worth the investment.
